For years I've enjoyed the Netania Davrath recording of the Canteloube
Songs of the Auvergne.  The conductor is listed as Pierre de la Roche,
but I read once, years and years ago (I think it was in High Fidelity)
that the conductor's name is a pseudonym for a Big Star who Vanguard
could not list on the label due to contractual issues.  The article,
alas, did not list his name.

I have an idea who this might be, but I wonder if anyone knows for sure?
