For a sonic stunner try the Blomstedt recording on Denon, also with the
peerless Staaskapelle Dresden.  The Tod und Verkarung CD is also extremely
impressive.  The colours produced by this awsome orchestra and airy,
focussed sound are breathtaking.

They are some of my favourite Strauss recordings.
