New York's Americas Society Presents Klezmer en Buenos Aires Season
Opening Concert on Monday, September 22 - Family Concert on September 21

The Americas Society will present their 2003-2004 season opening
concert, Klezmer en Buenos Aires on Monday, September 22 at 7:30 pm at
the Americas Society, 680 Park Avenue, corner of 68th Street and Park
Avenue in Manhattan. This program will also be offered as a family
concert on Sunday, September 21, 3:00 PM at The Americas Society.

Cesar Lerner on the piano, accordion and percussion and Marcelo
Moguilevsky on the clarinet, saxophone, recorders and vocals will
present a lively mix of Klezmer and Argentine folk music.

The Americas Society's 2003-2004 season of Music of the Americas
explores genres that began "in the streets" and were later transformed
by conservatory-trained musicians, like Tango, Jazz, Cuban Danzones,
among others.  A series of videos from the Latin American Video Archives
will be shown through out the season, each complimenting their
respective concert.

Tickets for the September 22 concert are General Admission $15 and
Students & Seniors $10. Tickets for the September 21 Family Concert are
$5. Adults must be accompanied by at least one child. For reservations

The Americas Society promotes understanding of the political, economic,
and cultural issues that define and challenge the Americas today.

The Americas Society re-established the Music Department in January of
2001 and appointed Conductor/Flutist Maria Elena Tobon as its Director.
The new Music Department promotes works by composers from Latin America,
the Caribbean, United States and Canada, and also represents these
region's diverse musical traditions.
