I wrote a paper on Prokofiev's 7th while in music school in the 1980s.
You've reminded me why that paper had a lot to say.  Perhaps the coda
was brought about due to "marketplace forces"?  Oops, Prokofiev did not
live in the current political climate of the USA/global economy.
