I don't know the answer to the specific question about the recording.
But we saw Mr Sherman perform the Transcendental Etudes this summer in
Rockport, MA.  It was a fantastic night.  As you noted he has been playing
these for over twenty years.  Very exciting to watch live and sitting only
about thirty feet from him.

I've been listening to his Beethoven Sonatas and am very favorably
impressed with them.  I've also been listening to Schnabel and Brendal
recently.  At some point I hope to be able to come to some comparative
conclusions about them.  For now, I'm just loving them!
