The movement I heard was this (details taken from BBC Radio 3 playlists):

      Ingemisco (Requiem)
  Luciano Pavarotti
  Orchestra of the Lyric Arena of Verona/Gerhard Fackler
  DECCA 425 043-2 Tr 7x

That it was Pavarotti was obvious to me even listening to the recording
from another room!  Perhaps if I'd heard another singer performing it I
might have been less impressed.
