Ed Zubrow writes concerning Goode and Perahia:

It appears that I share Ed's views; both pianists are lyrical and enjoyable
in a mainstream way but rarely lift me to a higher plane.

Good choices, particularly Brendel, but each of them provides distinctive
interpretations.  Now that I think of it, I haven't listened to the
Sherman volumes on GM for many a month, a situation I need to correct.
I don't always agree with his interpretive decisions, but he is always
an artist who gives a fresh look at the written score and its architecture.
