The following is an unpaid political announcement: I am a HUGE fan of the
Serafino Trio. I went to the MP3 website and heard the samples, and then
wrote to Dave Runnion, our fellow list-member and Serafino Trio cellist, to
buy a cd. Hey, Dave, was I your first sale??? Today I'm finally listening
to my own cd with the Foote trio # 1 (ooooo, do you love Faure and Brahms?
then HEAR THIS! the first movement of the Foote is so romantic and played
with so much passion and beauty that it's a temptation to keep repeating it
... but don't neglect the rest! Listen especially to that yummy cello solo
at the opening of the third movement of the Foote. And I haven't even talked
about the Shostakovich which is worth so many more words of praise.

This whole cd is gorgeous. The Serafino Trio is fully professional,
wonderful, musical, delightful. Don't just take my word for it: go to
Dave Runnion's website or his mp3 site and listen for yourselves. You are
in for a treat. And as great as it sounds on mp3, it just cannot compare
with the fine sound quality of the cd.

Hooray for the warmth of the performers, their togetherness, balance,
mature musicianship. I hope this is just the first of many Serafino Trio
cds to come. Boyohboy, would I love to hear them play Brahms op. 87 or
the Arensky op. 32, or the Dvorak op. 90, or, or, or, ....
