Although I don't usually like Solti, I keep going back to him for the
Haydn "London" Symphonies (i.e. 93 - 104). If you want fire in Haydn,
you need look no farther than Solti. The sound of the 104th is a bit
brighter than his recordings of the other "London" symphonies. The
violins, especially, sound grainy. But, still, it's a good sounding
recording. It's with the London Symphony, where, I think, most of the
others are with the London Philharmonic. Oddly enough, I prefer the
playing of the London Philharmonic in these recordings.
