Musical and Visual Rhythms - Piano Recital and Painting Exhibition by
Cesar Vuksic - September 29 Event at Langston Hughes Library

Pianist and painter Cesar Vuksic will present Musical and Visual Rhythms
- a very special piano recital and commentary on his paintings on Monday,
September 29, 2003 - 6 PM at the Langston Hughes Community Library and
Cultural Center, 100-01 Northern Boulevard, Corona, Queens.

Mr. Vuksic will perform four Preludes by Debussy, Ondine, Voiles,
Minstrels and Feux d'artifice, George Crumb's Crucifixus, Manuel de
Falla's Fire Ritual Dance, his own Variations for Clarinet and Piano and
a set of Argentinean tangos.  He will also offer commentary explaining
the relationships, links and parallels between the music performed and
the paintings exhibited.

Langston Hughes Cultural Center will also present a solo exhibition of
Cesar Vuksic's paintings during the month of September.  You can view a

This event is free and open to the public and is presented by New
Americans.  The concert is made possible by the Queens Council on the
Arts, with public funding from the New York City Department of Cultural
Affairs.

Cesar Vuksic, pianist and composer, has concertized throughout the U.S.,
South America and Europe as a recitalist, soloist with orchestras and
chamber musician.  His compositions have been performed by well known
musicians and chamber groups in the U.S.  and Latin America.  As an
educator, Mr.  Vuksic has taught at Western Michigan University and was
Director of Studies at the Conservatorio de Musica del Tolima, Colombia.
He has recorded for the 4Tay, North South Consonance, CBS, Opus 1 and
