Well, I don't know the american classical music stations, but in Europe
I know a lot of countries which each have a good-quality classical music
stations which have also place for "minority"-music like contemporary
music, chamber music, unknown composers etc. Just a few examples: in
Switzerland, there are the french-speaking Radio Suisse Romande Espace
2 (http://www.espace2.ch/espace2/Index.asp), the german-speaking
DRS2(http://www.drs.ch/site/drs2.html), in France, there is the outstanding
France Musique
(http://www.radio-france.fr/chaines/france-musiques/actuellement/) (and
another France Culture:
(http://www.radio-france.fr/chaines/france-culture/sommaire/), in Germany
there is Bayern 4 classical, etc. And I don't count the stations that are
giving fast-food, predigested classical hits for people who want some
background "music"!
