RCA has issued a new recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations by the
Canadian Brass. This is the first time I have heard the work by a brass
ensemble, and I was looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, I
didn't find it particularly stimulating or enjoyable.

It might be that this work for keyboard doesn't translate well when played
on brass instruments. Or, it's just me. I am interested in what other
list members think of the recording, particularly those who have an
affinity for brass ensemble performances.
