Edward Heath is also an organist and has conducted.  He was IIRC organ
scholar at his college in Oxford, which implies a great deal more than
nmerely amateur status.

Nazi Deputy Fu"hrer Reinhard Heydrich was reputedly a fine violinist
(until he was assassinated by the resitance in Yugoslavia).
