John Smyth enthused:

>another Barber Toccata Festiva! That's four in the last few years.

The organist on the Naxos CD is Thomas Trotter and Marin Alsop conducts.
Years ago, a friend had an LP by E Power Biggs with the Poulenc concerto
(I think), the Barber, and Richard Strauss's Festival Prelude, which is
as fine a piece of bombast for a good wallow as you'll find anywhere.
I don't think it ever made it to CD, at least in this coupling.

Incidentally, the Norwegian Classical Favourites Vol 2 in the Naxos list
includes music by Saeverud, Valen, Tveitt, Groven, Braein, Gjerstrom,
Sommerfeldt and Jensen. They may be favourites in Norway, but for most
of us, it'll be new music.
