At least he didn't call him (Strauss) "composer of the millenium"...
Which reminds me that Charles Rosen picked a movement from Bach's Musical
Offering as piano piece of the Millenium!!!  Oh.  well - if you take this
"best" mania as a parlour game, and don't take it seriously, it can be fun.
However, a Boston Globe listing of the 100 greatest Boston athletes of the
century listed the great Warren Spahn in 100 th place, and left Jim Rice
off altogether.  THAT is serious.
