Chan Kai Ming wrote of Zimerman's new recording:

>How does it compare with the recent Argerich/Dutoit recording?

I like Zimerman's much better for two reasons. First, I don't think
the EMI engineers are doing well by Argerich. Second, I'm not a fan of
Dutoit's conducting; it is always highly professional but seldom better
than that in the mainstream repertoire. The Zimerman is excellent
all-around.

But, I think even better of the Ax period instrument recordings of both
concertos on Sony - beautiful sound and interpretation.
