Ron Chaplin asked of the Olbertz/Haydn recordings on Berlin:
>Any opinions?
I have volume no. 2, and I doubt I'll be getting additional volumes.
Olbertz is not bad at all, but there's currently a good number of pianists
who have made excellent recordings: Schiff, Andsnes, Brendel, Reisenberg,
Staier, Ax, Pletnev, Kalish, Cohen, Richter, and Ranki. In addition, some
list members swear by Jando on Naxos, and one list member was very
enthusiastic about Julia Cload on Meridian.
With all that's available, I see no reason to settle for "merely good".
My top preferences are Brendel and Schiff.
