I agree with Stephen that one of Mackerras' goals was to provide an
historically informed set of performances; just wanted to point out that
Mackerras uses modern instruments.  It might just be the way that I look at
it, but HIP, to me, means use of period instruments in addition to other
historically informed aspects of performance.

Stephen liked the set very much, and I second that opinion (reasons provided
in a previous posting on this thread).
