You make a good point, although I'm not sure that "right" is an entirely
appropriate word.

But you are correct, it is impossible to hear 18th century music throught
18th century ears today.  I saw this point persuasvely argued in an
interview by one of the founders of the movement:  Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
