Richard Todd shatters my illusions about the Great Gate of Kiev:

A great pity.  This prompts the question of whether Hartmann's painting
worked from the plans or purely his imagination.

It occurred to me after my previous post that, since the days of the
earlier link I mentioned, now Google images will find the Gate for you
in less time than it takes to pause before the Gate's theme enters.
