Since we are on this subject there appears to be a tendency to drop the
use of titles in the media.  Both Radio Times and the BBC Music Magasine
do not print titles and the Guardian newspaper apparently has a policy
of not printing titles in parts of the newspaper and is considering
dropping them altogether.

There are also 'courtesy' titles for the offspring of peers, very
complicated, and few British people understand them.

So, Americans, feel free not to append titles to people's names!
