I enjoy Beethoven on both period and modern instruments; could care less
about "historical accuracy", it's what I like that counts. For Beethoven
solo piano works, I much prefer the modern piano for its richness and
greater dynamic impact. For his chamber works, I prefer period instruments
for those strings. Concerning the rest of his output, either way is fine
with me.

We tend to have the best of both worlds these days. Buy period, buy
modern, buy both - availability is strong.
