This afternoon, as I was browsing in my local Barnes and Noble, I came
across 5 volumes of The Complete Works of Scott Joplin on Laserlight,
performed by Robert Zimmerman on piano. Knowing the label, but never
having heard the quality of a Laserlight recording, I bought only the
first one at $6.99, although a little voice told me I should get all five
immediately. I went home, listened to volume 1 and immediately liked what
I heard. I have the two volumes of Gershwin's piano roll recordings on
Nonesuch, which I also like very much, and I notice similarities between
both composers. Of course, I went out and bought the other four and am
looking forward to hearing the rest. Seems like they could be good
"traveling music." In the first volume, I notice a few of what sound, to
my almost untrained ear, like mis-hits, but not that many to make much of
an impact.

With that introduction (I couldn't resist), I was wondering what the other
members experience with Laserlight has been.

Thanks, as always,

Ron Chaplin
