This is silly perhaps but, have you experienced an association of a color
(or related colors) with a particular work?.  Some associations may be due
to the "CD cover effect", but some others may have a much more strange
explanation.  For example, my list of colors associated to Mahler's
symphonies is the following:

Symphony n1: brown /grey
Symphony n2: golden/dark brown
"   "           n3: red/soft green
"   "           n4: yellow/golden
n5: soft blue/white
n6: orange/red/pink
n7: dark blue/black
n8: dark green/soft green
n9: reddish brown/soft grey
n10: steel blue/soft grey
