Nope.  I wasn't responding to that part of your post in which you suggested
that there has been nothing since Stravinsky or Britten that has been worth
your while.  If the War Requiem, in your opinion, stands as the greatest
work in the past half century, I'm not going to argue the point.  Maybe it
is.

I was addressing the implication that the work of Pauline Oliveros and her
ilk so dominates contemporary music that there is no other decent music to
be heard.  If I had the time to verify their chronology, I am sure I could
name hundreds of works composed since the War Requiem that are a pleasure
to listen to even if they do not quite measure up to Britten's admittedly
magnificent piece.

I do not, however, begrudge Pauline Oliveros her professorship nor the
privilege of having her work performed, and even listened to at $30 a seat,
if someone wants to do it.  I still maintain that she makes a very small
ripple.
