It has just been announced that David Robertson, California-born conductor
whose career has been mainly in Europe, will become music director of
the St. Louis Symphony beginning in the fall of 2005.  I'm personally
thrilled by this choice; he's a conductor I've been excited about for a
long time, having heard him conduct a number of times at the Aspen Music
Festival.
