Some of you may remember me as the guy who developed software that
composes classical music - yuk. Once on this list someone ask me why I
didn't compose music rather than develop software that composes music -
a fair question. So earlier this year I composed a 3 movement (approx.
19 minutes) piano concerto in the style of the mid 19th century (that
was once a thread on this list "Are today's composers obligated to write
in the modern style"). Obviously I don't think so:-)

I don't plan on becoming a composer or having my work published, etc.
rather wrote it for the fun of it using Scorewriter. But I would like
to know how close I came to producing something that satisfies my own
criteria for judging music -"was it pleasurable to listen to". If anyone
here would like to hear it, its the 1st 3 pieces at my mp3.com site
www.mp3.com/pirkle (I don't get any money for these plays!) and you need
to be able to stream an mp3 file (i.e. broadband rather than 56kb).

The orchestration is MIDI - yuk - and I did not tweek the phrasing with
embedded MIDI commands as I could have, but it can be evaluated in terms
of theme quality, architecture, etc.

You may comment here or to me privately. Here's your chance to become a
music critic:-) and I promise not to get too defensive:-)
