In Spillville, Iowa where Dvorak spent the summer of 1892 relaxing with
Czech immigrants of Spillville and composing his Ninth Symphony and "The
American" string quartet there is a small museum about Dvorak's visit
and life. There is also the Bily Clock Museum which contains several
large handmade wooden clocks made by 2 unmarried brothers in the early
1900's. Ford Motors tried to purchase the clocks for one million dollars
but the brothers would not sell the clocks. Spillville is in N.E.Iowa.
I have visited the 2 sites and if you ever are in the area it would be
worth your time to visit.
