This thread started earlier this year, but I was lazy and did not follow it
by a musical investigation. Tonight I had the fortune to hear Revuletas
Four String quartets on radio (a EBU live broadcast from the house of the
Americas in Madrid, Spain), played by the exelent Cuarteto LatinoAmericano.

Musically there is a easily distinguishable Mexican folksy tone, often in
a combination with a Bartokian sense of form and content, very enjoyable
indeed. So if You like the quartets of say, Bartok, Shostakovich or Leifs,
I suggest that You try them out.

An online source checked (CD now) before sending this, turned up:

Silvestre Revueltas - Musica de Feria - The String Quartets
Cuarteto Latinoamericano, New Albion Records: NA062
(43mins/$14.99) a bit expensive minute vise, but worth every second
belive you me! (no affiliation etc. with New Albion..)
