Lest some list members gather from all the vitriol dumped here on Lebrecht
that he is a one-dimensional figure, I urge those with an open mind to
read Martin Anderson's post today on the Shostakovich List.  Anderson posts
verbatim Lebrecht's recent article in the Jewish Press (UK) on Shostakovich
and the Jews, and I have to say, on reading the article and not knowing
much about Lebrecht but what I have read on this list, I got the impression
it must have been written by some other person.  Let's hope Mimi or someone
can talk Martin into posting Lebrecht's article here.
