As I was basically lacking organ solo works in my CD collection (except
a couple of Messiaens) I picked up recently the organ symphonies by Vierne
(complete, MDG) and Widor (nos. 5-10, MDG) both with Ben van Osten
playing. I was/am very impressed! Thus I would like to ask for other
organ work recommendations, maybe mainly after 1800...(some names I thought
of already are Tournemire, Guilmant and Dupre). Finally what are the most
interesting organ works by Bach and Reger (as I do not want to buy 20 CDs
by each of them, what are their hits?). Thanks!
