Lower East Side Performing Arts, Inc., Elodie Lauten, Director, presents
Palladio by Ben Neill and Bill Jones, the first screening of the 2008
Op on Screen Festival of Neo-Opera and Multi-Media Theater Video on
Saturday, October 4 - 2 PM at the Hamilton Fish Park Branch of the New
York Public Library, 415 Houston Street (near Ave D) in Manhattan.
Palladio was created in a new digitally created narrative/performance
format that fluidly mixes sampled commercials, live action cinematic
drama and live music.
Palladio asks the question, 'In a world where the line between culture
and commerce is increasingly blurred, can you really sell out anymore

Jonathan Dee, Neill and Jones' new media performance work tells the story
of an unlikely romantic triangle set against the backdrop of the often
conflicting worlds of music, art and advertising.
Ben Neill, internationally known composer, performer and inventor of the
mutantrumpet, a hybrid electro-acoustic instrument, has been a pioneer
in the use of interactive computer technologies in live performance.
Neill's music has been recorded on Six Degrees, Universal/Verve, and
Astralwerks.
Visual artist Bill Jones has exhibited in galleries and museums for over
two decades. He is also a noted writer, editor and founder of a number
of periodicals including The Independent Film and Video Monthly and
ArtByte the Magazine of Digital Culture.

LESPA Director Elodie Lauten (http://www.elodielauten.net) is a
composer/keyboardist/producer who has been described as a pioneer
of post-minimalism, and a force on the new music scene. More than
two dozen recordings of her music have been released on 10 labels.
Lauten has received several major awards and performances at many major
venues in New York and Paris, including the Lincoln Center Festival, the
New York City Opera, the Whitney Museum, The Kitchen, the World Music
Institute, the SEM Ensemble and the Paris Museum of Modern Art. Lauten's
Symphony 2001, was premiered in February 2003 by the SEM Orchestra in
