A friend and I made a detailed comparision of performances by Keith
Jarrett and Vladimir Ashkenazi a couple of years ago.  We agreed that
Ashkenazi was technically superior but rather on the bland side, while
Jarret was appropriately edgier.  Advantage: Jarrett.  But of course
there are other alternatives out there.
