What a lovely thoughtful review - another copy sold! Berkant Haydin is
one of the great Marx champions, and his notes will be worth reading for
their own sake. This sounds like a significant release.

Marx's songs are lovely, though rather soft focus and not too challenging.
Berg's early songs have a similar romantic lushnesss, but with deeper
undercurrents, which is perhaps why their appeal goes further. There
are several recordings around, one with Marx himself, but some are
indifferently performed. I have a CD of "Songs by Marx and Neitzsche"
which sounds misleading. Though the Neitzsche songs were written by the
philospher, the Marx were by Joseph, not Karl.
