In Vermont there are no registration fees (there is a registration
requirement). In Steve Parise, Vermont has an excellent State
Inspector. However,
he is only half-time. Therefore the Vt. Beekeepers Association (VBA) just
procured a USDA Grant that we will partially use to set up a "Junior
Inspector" program. New beekeepers will be able to cost-share with VBA to
bring an experienced (pre-approved) beekeeper in to visit their hives and
walk them through what they are seeing in their own hives. This will launch
in 2013 after we finish hosting EAS in 2012.
