A few years ago when doing "AJ" (ah-shay) hive inspections in Croatia - with sun glasses still on - I was on the receiving end of multiple stings around my right eye before I could get the glasses off. That week people would cross to the other side of the street when approaching as I looked like I had been in a 10 round fight with Muhammad Ali. "AJ" hives open on the back side like opening a cupboard door, therefore when opening the back the bees struck en masse!
