We ran RH sensors in 50 hives for several years at Aberdeen, MD.
 
In that area, outside RH often exceeds 90%.  In-hive RH generally was  as 
high or higher than that of ambient air.
 
Bees seem to raise humidity, if needed.  Don't seem to have  ability or 
maybe they just don't bother to try to bring it down when its  high.
