In Finland the only registered varroa treatments that are sold for beekeepers
are formic acid gel, thymol pads (locally made) and oxalic acid + sugar
solution ( 3,6% oxalic dehydrate)

Apistan used to be sold but after resistance in mites market become so small
that no one has been willing to pay the money for registration. Has not been
for sale for 6 ? 7 years.

Most treatments are done by formic, thymol and oxalic preparations made by
beekeepers themselves.

Beekeepers have got used to use these, but not always willing to pay attention
for right timing and therefore paying a price of hives killed by mites/
viruses.
