There is enough food in the world today. A lot of the wildlife areas are being cut down in Brazil and elsewhere to grow grains used to feed animals to supply the increasing taste for the American/Western meat diet in the quickly expanding middle classes in China and India where mostly plant-based diets used to be the norm. This problem will only get worse. It takes significantly less acreage to supply a vegetarian diet. The Western diet should change to consume less meats and more vegetables. I say less meat because not everyone's genetics are capable of being healthy on a stricly vegetarian diet. It seems affluence greatly reduces human reproduction. In the Japan, EU, the US, and Canada the reproduction rate is bet. 1.1 and 1.6. About 2.1 children per couple is needed to maintain a stable population. The Japanese population has been shrinking rather fast (projected to drop 30% by 2055) as it allows insignificant immigration. The EU and US/Canada populations would be shrinking as well, were it not for the Islamic and Latino immigrations, respectively. All UN population growth controls have failed. Only affluence seems to be an effective control. Bring the developing countries up to Western standards of living and they, too, will get too busy with the modern, crazy lifestyle to have too many children. The human population growth demands more bees for pollination and honey. That's good, I think. Although more often means inferior quality as is the case with industrial food. Waldemar
