Hello Dee and All,
Mr Barry Birkey has posted a site for all 49ers now to post

I guess I will not be seeing the above phenomona with the SMR line because
varroa does not reproduce in SMR bees  cells. No need to chew out varroa in
the purple-eye stage. I am glad to hear of your and other 49ers success!

Ps. Is not using SMR queens and no chemicals  natural varroa control Barry?
