honeybee.  If understood at all, at that point in history, it may have been
seen as a side benefit. I'm "speculating" that honeybee importation to the
varying "colonies" around the world had more to do with man's sweet tooth.

My understanding is that the importation of honeybees to the colonies had
more to do with religion than anything else. Wax was the base for the
candles used in the churches.
