I get virtually every new product pitched at me.  I ask for supporting
data.  Without good supporting field trial data, I tend to suspect snake
oil.

Legitimate product developers sometimes pay me to run field trials of their
product.  The results are generally disappointing to them, and sometimes
result in the product not being brought to market.
