I have been to Slovenia and have seen these hives in use. They are difficult to use compared to ours, but the system is attractive for many reasons.

There is an alternative, however, and that is to use standard frames which can be removed from the back. Probably you could even modify regular supers to make a hive which loads from the back. See:
