If I recall correctly, way back when Jim Fisher reported that several
queens from Dee's operation were sent to Florida to duplicate her success.

The colonies were unmanageable, just like AHB.

If you want to succeed with small, large or whatever cell, get the right
bee.

If you go back in the archives, you will see this discussion repeated over
and over again.

My only issue with it is that I have never met anyone in Maine who tried it
and it worked. But every year I see new beekeepers going down the same
path, so I do not doubt that there is a strong following. Add that the
followers are not 4.9 adherents but "natural" or "organic" beekeepers,
which I try to follow (as did Allen). We  all believe in the same hope for
beekeeping, which is the most natural. It is just, as Allen eloquently
wrote, that reality interferes.
