I occasionally read suggestions on this list that we
feed package bees sugar syrup all the way to
September.

Is this assuming that the package is not able to bring
in adequate nectar on its own? In my short beekeeping
career, I've only purchased three packages, but two of
the three built up quickly enough to put honey in
supers for me.

My question is, if I continue to feed sugar water all
summer long, how do I know that what's in my supers is
pure honey?
