Is the blueboard in direct contact with the bees?

Michael Palmer said he uses a 1 in Styrofoam for upper insulation but puts 
the foam above an inner cover.

I am testing some of David Vanderdusen's (miteaway II) pillows this year. 
About the same insulation factor plus absorbs moisture. many say absorbing 
the moisture is as important as the R factor.
