If it translocates from the soil up in to the plants, it will show up in the hive. If it vaporizes from the soil, it will show up in the hive. 30 yrs of pollution work with bees - it all get in to the hive, if its mobile in the environment.

Subject: [BEE-L] Soil contamination showing up in nectar

L.S.,

I can use a terrain close by to put beehives on. According to the owners there
s all kinds of soil contamination, probably solvents as it was a yacht
hipyard. The flora looks fine. There is a lot of blackberry there (Rubus).

Does any one of you know of a demonstrated case of very local contamination
ffecting nectar and bees? The rest of the area is fine, lush banks of a canal
ith nature/gardens/houses.

Thanks,
Lennard
