New World Carniolans is just a name given to a strain of carniolans that
was started some 15 to 20 years ago. That population has been bred in
California and Ohio since it started. It is a closed population, which
means that no other strains of bees has been introduced. New World
Carniolans are not hybrids, more like a breed.
