Apicides?  Yikes!  I can think of two that report an effect of screened bottom boards (SBB) in conjunction with miticides, although one is published and the other is in press.

J. D. Ellis, K. S. Delaplane and W. M. Hood.  2001.  Efficacy of bottom screen device, Apistan and Apilife VAR, in controlling Varroa destructor.  ABJ Nov: 813-816.
- Although SBB provided little varroa control on their own (15% fewer varroa after 50 days compared to colonies with no SBB and no miticide), they had two immediately useful effects: 1) reduced variability in varroa control among the thymol treatments and 2) 44% control of varroa in Apistan resistant colonies treated with Apistan (compared to 0% among Apistan-treated colonies without SBB).
