Peter, I'm not understanding your point here. Are you talking about the
recent Pettis quotes that apparently indicate a synergy between
imidacloprid and nosema- that "undetectble" levels of imidacloprid
can enhance susceptibility to nosema ? If so, then isn't your
statement putting the cart before the horse ? Shouldn't we interpret
this unpublished research to mean that "Colonies that are weakened
by environmental pollution are more susceptible to pathogens"?  Not 
the other way around.
I'm just a dumnbunny physicist here  and out of my league.  So a little help
would be appreciated.
